Ford Performance Racing are looking good for this afternoon’s first race at Sandown International Raceway after Mark Winterbottom and Paul Dumbrell qualified their FPR Falcons in third and second places respectively.
Jamie Whincup took pole position for the 120km race (39 laps) but Frosty isn’t concerned touting that his Orrcon Steel FPR Falcon has what it takes to win this weekend’s opener.
“If I can get a good start Ithink we’ll have a cracker race on our hands,” Frosty said.
“Third place probably isn’t a true indicator of our speed as I had a bit of a moment at turn four on my shootout lap which probably cost me a few tenths so we’re definitely good for pace,” he added.
Paul Dumbrell in the FPR prepared Bottle-O Racing Falcon was looking at his first ever pole position but was pipped at the post by Whincup.
Across the garage in the Dunlop Super ealer FPR Falcon, Steve Richards – whao has also enjoyed some great speed in practice – will start this afternoon’s race from 16th place.
Race one kicks off at 4.05pm today.
