FPR HELPS DJR A LITTLE MORE

09 | 08 | 2013 - FPR HELPS DJR A LITTLE MORE

Ford Performance Racing and fellow Ford squad Dick Johnson Racing have further increased their technical partnership in an attempt to build on the growing competitiveness of their alliance.

FPR senior engineer Campbell Little will soon begin working regularly with DJR in between events to ensure the team makes the most of its relationship with Ford?s factory team.

Queensland-based Little will continue his role as race engineer to Alex Davison on the #18 JELD-WEN FPR Ford but will now also assist DJR with all aspects of the team?s two-car operation.

Little joins fellow FPR employee Adam de Borre at DJR who works as race engineer to the FPR-contracted Chaz Mostert who drives DJR?s #12 Wilson Security-backed Ford.

De Borre engineered Mostert to his maiden V8 Supercars race win at the last event at Queensland Raceway highlighting the ever increasing success of the FPR/DJR partnership.

?Placing Campbell at DJR makes sense for everyone involved,? FPR Team Principal Tim Edwards said.

?Not only is he an experienced V8 Supercars engineer, but he lives just a short drive from the DJR factory so the physical barrier between our team in Melbourne no longer exists.

?Campbell knows our program as well as any of our engineers so he will help DJR staff get the most out of our technical alliance which obviously benefits everyone involved.?

DJR Director Steve Brabeck recently announced the team secured naming-rights partner Wilson Security through to the end of 2013 and believes the expansion of the FPR relationship is another example of the team?s resurgence.

?We are pleased and excited for the opportunity to work closer with Campbell.  He is without doubt one of the most respected engineers and managers in pit lane,? Brabeck said.

?This arrangement increases the already strong relationship we have with Tim Edwards and the FPR team.

?The two DJR-built Fords have gone from strength-to-strength with the FPR-engineered components and the engineering support which has had an obvious positive impact on our performance this year, giving us our first win since our championship year in 2010.?

Despite missing the first three events of the year Mostert has climbed to 20th in the points while on the back of a run of wins and podiums FPR duo Will Davison and Mark Winterbottom sit third and fourth overall.
