22 | 08 | 2013 - FROSTY BRINGS UP TRIPLE TON
Ford Pepsi Max Crew?s Mark Winterbottom has been the top point scorer for the last two V8 Supercars events and wants to make it three in a row this weekend at the team?s home track at Winton where he will record his 300th championship race start.
Mark has vaulted from 21st after the opening event to fourth in the standings to sit right behind team-mate Will who celebrates 250 starts at Winton.
The pair has closed the gap to the points lead at the last two events and wants to continue that trend ahead of the Endurance Cup which is now less-than one month away.
Mark Winterbottom - #5 Pepsi Max FPR Ford:
?Every milestone is certainly worth celebrating and 300 races is a big one and means I?ve been in the sport for a while. I?ve always had a fast car there but results have never fallen our way though it would be perfect for that to change on such a milestone weekend. There is a lot of pride involved in winning on your home track and if we can do that it will be the perfect lead into the Endurance Cup.?
Will Davison - #6 Pepsi Max FPR Ford:
?I?ve got a bit of a sniff of a realistic championship challenge so I?m feeling like we are in with a good shot. There won?t be a runaway winner so knowing that we can win on our day gives me confidence along with our recent form. We?ve done some big mileage with the new car at Winton but I am expecting a tough weekend as it is a tricky track to get right. This weekend is a fresh sheet of paper so we hope everything learnt in testing translates and that we can capitalise ahead of the enduros. If we head there well within striking distance it is game on.?
Tim Edwards ? Team Principal:
?We always enjoy strong support at Winton so it will be a great place to celebrate milestones for Mark and Will, though more importantly it is the ideal place to continue our great run of points. In the last two months we?ve enjoyed a considerable upturn in performance and the gap covering the top four is getting closer with every race.?

Winton is FPR?s home test track and as such is well-known to the team and its drivers. Despite its remote location in rural north-eastern Victoria the track is one of the longest-serving on the calendar and combines a broad combination of corners on its relatively short layout. Fast, flowing turns sit alongside tighter turns and a hairpin to provide a true test of a car?s handling.
