28 | 02 | 2014 - POLE AND P2 FOR WATERS
FPR debutant Cameron Waters stunned the field to claim pole position for the opening Dunlop Series race of 2014 before finishing a comfortable second in the 27-lap twilight race.
The factory Ford newcomer was on form in qualifying and only required a single timed run to take top spot in the bumper 30-car field.
He made a clean start and while beaten into the opening turn but eventual winner, Ash Walsh.
Cam stayed with the race leader and came home second and with a new lap record despite a late safety car bunching up the pack which prior to the caution was more than 12 seconds in arrears.
Cameron Waters - #56 ENZED FPR Ford:
?It was a really good race and to qualify on pole was awesome ? that was certainly the highlight of the day. During the race I tried to pull Ash (Walsh) back in but I got the lap record as well which was pretty cool. Tomorrow?s race will be better so I am looking forward to it.?
