09 | 04 | 2014 - WATERS WINS AT WINTON
Ford Performance Racing junior driver Cameron Waters broke through for his first race win on the weekend as he claimed his first ever round podium and moved to third in the Dunlop Series points.
The Team ENZED FPR driver was dominant all weekend, topping both of Friday's practice sessions and qualifying on the front row for the third time from three sessions.
Waters took out Saturday's opening 25-lap race in a dominant display and backed up for fourth place in Sunday's reverse grid (top 10) race.
His convincing performance elevates him to third in the series standings, from eighth.
?I couldn?t ask for too much more from this weekend. Race 1 was just perfect for us - the team gave me an awesome car which I could control a big gap with and actually drive within myself. The reverse grid top 10 didn?t really work in our favour after we won in Race 1, especially as it is so hard to use car speed and overtake here, but it is what it is and we just had to make the best of it. I am extremely happy for myself and the whole team as getting my first win in the Dunlop Series has been a while coming. Most importantly, we are leaving the weekend in a much better championship position than we came in.?
