FG X DEBUT AT PRA HOME TRACK

13 | 05 | 2015 - FG X DEBUT AT PRA HOME TRACK

Pepsi Max Crew's Mark Winterbottom and Chaz Mostert will make their first appearance at Prodrive Racing (Australia's) home track this year at the upcoming Winton SuperSprint.

While the pair has not yet tested at the track this year, Winton remains a circuit that the drivers know well.

After a disappointing end to a stellar weekend in Perth for Mark Winterbottom, the experienced Ford racer welcomes the challenge of adapting the FG X to the track where he claimed Sunday's race in 2014.

Chaz Mostert has put a strong emphasis on continuity following his first ever pole position in Perth as the young-gun continues to chase a top-five championship position.

Enduro Cup co-drivers Cameron Waters (Mostert and Steve Owen (Winterbottom) were confirmed with the team earlier this week and they will both make their first appearances for the team this year on Friday during practice.

DRIVERS’ VIEW
Mark Winterbottom - #5 Pepsi Max PRA Ford:

"Winton will be good. It is our test track but we haven't actually tested there so far this year so we don't quite know how the FG X will go there but we had good success last year. Coming off Perth and knowing we have a fast car is really nice. I'm looking forward to it; it is our home track so we feel pride in getting a good result because you always want to win at your home track. Hopefully the car suits the circuit. Because we haven't been there yet this year, normally by this stage we would have turned up to Winton with two test days under our belt so it feels different but it'll be good to get back up to Benalla and have two events so close together as well."

Chaz Mostert - #6 Pepsi Max PRA Ford:
"It's pretty cool to be back from the big break and into some racing and after a good weekend in Perth I'm really excited to go to Winton. Our car is going from strength to strength so if we can just keep maintaining and staying in that top five we'll hopefully be a threat towards the end of the year, but right now, consistency is the key. The quicker the events come around the better for us drivers to keep on top of ourselves. We've done a lot of laps at Winton as a team so hopefully the new generation car and the FG X aero kit is going to work well but we'll just have to wait until we get there."

Tim Edwards – Team Principal:
"It's great to be heading to Winton. It's a track we're familiar with but we haven't seen what the FG X can do there yet so it will be another learning experience. We will have our co-drivers with us for testing on Friday so it will be good to get their opinions on the car too and see if we can make further improvements."

DUNLOP SERIES PREVIEW
Prodrive Racing's Cameron Waters is excited to be back in the car after a quick turn around following his clean-sweep of the Perth round of the Dunlop Series. Waters will return to Winton Motor Raceway for the second time this year after testing at the PRA home track earlier in the year. The current series leader aims to continue his winning ways to further extend his championship lead.

Cameron Waters - #5 ENZED PRA Ford:
"Winton is our test track so I'm pretty excited to get there. I've done heaps of laps around there in all different cars and quite a few in my current Dunlop Series car so I think we've got a good base setup to start with. Obviously we had a pretty good round at Perth so hopefully we can keep that rolling into Winton."

Fast, flowing turns sit alongside tighter turns and a hairpin to provide a true test of a car’s handling.
