Prodrive Racing Australia's Mark Winterbottom has completed a successful shakedown of chassis 1520 at Winton Motor Raceway after taking to the track in the car for the first time.
Despite contesting wintry conditions and rain, Winterbottom was able to run the car on a dry track for part of the limited lap shakedown.
Winterbottom reported no issues with the car, crediting the team for their hard work ahead of its debut.
"The track was pretty greasy and stuff but probably the main thing is that the guys did a great job," he said.
"We do these shakedowns as a precaution but the way it ran we probably could have rolled right out at Darwin.
"They've done a great job building it. It feels the same seating wise and everything. The track was wet in spots so it was hard to tell exactly what was going sometimes but overall it was pretty spot on.
"That's the big bonus that the guys are prepping the cars to such a high standard and that’s a big plus for the team."
The team will debut the car at the Darwin Triple Crown on June 17.
